Well,it’s that time. Coffee spins, mountain biking and a well earned breather for everyone that has been competing in their various disciplines .
The road season went well with Ger and Mick picking up a number of wins .We had a good representation from members new to road racing who all seemed to enjoy it enormously. Club races went well with good support from participants and marshals alike. Many thanks to Dublin Wheelers with whom we co-hosted the races. We hope to host a season of club races next year incorporating a TT league.
Julian,Dave and Fergus all completed IM events and achieved personal bests in difficult conditions.
We were delighted and proud in equal measure to have two of our club mates,Enda Smyth and Cathal Miller represent Ireland in the London 2012 Paralympics. Cathal was chosen to be FlagBearer at the opening ceremony. They both did us proud but as Enda has promised a blog I won’t say anymore than ‘Chapeau’.
Club spins continue from Fixx at 9am on Saturdays. We will be renewing memberships and taking new members in over the coming weeks. Craig is putting together a new order for club gear so get your order in folks.
A weekend of mountain biking is planned for the 19/20th October in Ballyhoura and we have negotiated an attractive deal with a local hotel for anyone interested. This is pretty much a chance to goof about on purpose made trails and have a laugh and a beer in the evenings. All are welcome and no level of skill required.
Club night coming up shortly too.
Fixx Coffeehouse sponsored a stage of the Ras na mBan and your friend and humble narrator got to fulfill a lifetime’s ambition and be a podium girl. The Coffeehouse is also sponsoring the upcoming ‘Fixx Supercup league ‘being organized by WORC. If you have never been to a cyclocross race check it out. Great craic.
